People are capable, at any time in their lives, of doing what they dream of.

About Michelle Long
Michelle has always had a passion for working with people. She started her career working in veterinary medicine which she focused on for over a decade. It was at the veterinary office where her love for animals and people merged. In 2012, Michelle decided to branch out and began working in the accounting world with family and friends. She learned the ropes in bookkeeping, then expanded into tax preparation shortly before she met and began working with Scott at BNS Tax. When Scott established Nissen and Associates in 2019, Michelle made the leap to the new business, joining forces and doubling the initial team. Her thirst for knowledge and growth drove her to earn her Enrolled Agents License in 2022.
Michelle is skilled in personal, business, and non-profit tax planning and preparation, as well as payroll and monthly bookkeeping. She is thrilled to be able to watch the businesses she helps support, to grow and expand over the years. And especially delights in getting to know each and every one of her clients, from all walks of life, personally.
Outside of the office, Michelle keeps busy with volunteering. She still exercises her passion for animals as well as her dedication for working with youth by coaching a Whatcom County High School Equestrian Team. She also has been heavily involved in volunteering with 4-H for over a decade. Of course, her favorite past time is spending time with her own horses. Whether it’s hitting the local trails or participating in local cow sorting events, time with horses is time well spent.
Michelle has two trail-savvy adventure dogs, Cheyenne and Emi, that she adores and feels fortunate that she gets to bring them in the office from time to time.
